Loophead Studio has produced several short films which have screened at festivals internationally. In January 2026, the Irish Film Institute hosted a special screening, ANIMATION AT THE EDGE, showcasing the films as part of their Irish Focus programme.
The films take a sculptural approach, exploring materials and techniques such as sand animation, object pixilation, time lapse, puppet manipulation, live action and special effects. Conceptual sound design and original music play an important role.
Produced on the Loop Head peninsula, the films feature local voices, atmospheres, wildlife and landscapes.
